Primary Teachers’ Creative Intensive

For all teachers and educators of the Primary years

Join the Primary Teacher’s Creative Intensive this September—a nourishing and reflective space for Steiner educators to deepen their professional journey and renew their connection to the art of teaching.

This year’s Intensive centres on cultivating healthy classroom rhythms and guiding behaviour through conscious observation and inner development. As we strengthen our powers of perception, we are led toward more harmonious and imaginative approaches to classroom management—ones that honour the individuality of the child and the spiritual task of the teacher.

Together, we’ll work not only with the outer challenges of teaching, but also turn inward—developing the inner capacities that allow us to meet the children with clarity, warmth, and presence.

This is a two-day in-person event, presented at Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School

Positive Discipline: Effective and Caring Classroom Management

During this workshop, participants will gain practical skills and classroom management strategies for developing their own effective and positive classroom discipline system. They will learn how to strengthen teacher and student relationships, create positive classroom routines, teach appropriate social and emotional skills to students, and to transform everyday classroom behaviours in a respectful and caring manner. They will have opportunities to ask specific questions for their own understanding and learning, and practical classroom experiences. The aim is for participants to leave feeling more inspired, confident and ready to provide a learning environment for all students, within a framework of positive classroom discipline and management, so that all students can learn in an optimal, safe and respected environment.

This course is NESA-accredited

Eurythmy and Inner Development

The path of Inner Development is central to the path of becoming a Steiner teacher. In these sessions, we’ll explore eurythmy and movement as a path towards inner development.

Tutor: Diane Tatum

Watercolour Painting

Engaging with wet-on-wet watercolour painting is more than a creative exercise—it becomes a profound meditative and pedagogical practice for the teacher. As we slow down and immerse ourselves in the fluid, living qualities of colour, we cultivate the capacity for deep observation, sensitivity, and inner stillness. These are the same qualities that allow us to perceive the nuanced gestures, moods, and needs of the children in our care. Through this artistic experience, teachers strengthen their inner calm, clarity, and presence, which are essential for guiding behaviour with warmth and authority.

Tutor: To be confirmed

Special note: the Primary Intensive is not exclusive to Steiner educators and we invite all teachers and individuals interested in gaining new perspectives on education and life to join this event.
