The Sydney Rudolf Steiner College warmly invites expressions of interest for an upcoming extended online course in Steiner-based Maths education.

This four-part professional development series is designed to support and inspire educators in reimagining the teaching of mathematics throughout the Primary and High School years. Curated by leading experts in Steiner/Waldorf education, the course offers a rich foundation for creating developmentally aligned, imaginative, and meaningful approaches to maths learning.

Participants will engage with practical and creative strategies to transform mathematics into a joyful and accessible experience—bringing it to life in the classroom and nurturing a deeper connection to this often-challenging subject.

Course Information

The course will be presented across 4 engaging webinars, with recordings available to re-watch for a limited time.

 

Session 1: Making Maths Meaningful

The purpose of experiential and curiosity mindset of teachers in the approach of Maths in primary and high school

 

Session 2: Maths and Child Development

Child developmental stages in Maths and practical examples.

 

Session 3: Australian Curriculum

Creative approaches to implementing the Australian curriculum through the years.

 

Session 4: Introduction to Projective Geometry

Experiential and process-centred mathematics: the qualities of Projective Geometry in the upper years.
