Australian Association for Rudolf Steiner Early Childhood Education (SECA)
We are hoping to establish an ongoing support group for teachers working with 5 to 6 year olds in Steiner schools across Australia.
The aim will be to hold a Zoom session once a term and to provide guidance as well a forum to discuss concerns, answer questions and share information from early childhood educators working with this age group.
Steiner teachers working in Kindergarten (Class 1 minus 1) are often a minority group working in a bigger school context. Many teachers of this age group feel that they need support in holding a picture of Steiner Early childhood education in the face of the many pressures that often seem to be eroding Steiner early childhood methodology and best practice.
Sydney Rudolf Steiner College
This year’s Intensive centres on cultivating healthy classroom rhythms and guiding behaviour through conscious observation and inner development. As we strengthen our powers of perception, we are led toward more harmonious and imaginative approaches to classroom management—ones that honour the individuality of the child and the spiritual task of the teacher.
Together, we’ll work not only with the outer challenges of teaching, but also turn inward—developing the inner capacities that allow us to meet the children with clarity, warmth, and presence.
This is a two-day in-person event, presented at Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School
Susan Perrow
In this 12.5 hour training, examples, ideas and techniques for writing healing (‘medicinal’) stories will be shared, and the therapeutic use of metaphor explored.
With the support of a story-making framework, the participants will be guided to create their own stories addressing a range of challenging behaviours & situations …. stories to soothe, help, motivate, give hope and build resilience (with children, teens & adults).
