Covid19- An Update for our Students

March 18, 2020

Dear Students,

After much deliberation we would like to advise that all scheduled face to face lectures and workshops are postponed. This does not mean that we are cancelling any of our courses. We are, however, working very hard on finding alternative formats to deliver them.

We very much regret that this is necessary. We are in a very new situation and over the last weekend it became clear that we must do all we can to avoid anyone becoming ill and contaminating others. We know that this decision will impact everyone differently and we will do everything possible to ensure your experience of your course is not impacted negatively.

2020 DE02/DE03 and EC05 Seminar Dates:

Students who have booked flights for the April Seminar should await next week’s College letter to then try to change flight dates. On Monday 23 March 20 we will be meeting to plan course delivery and look at the possibility of adding on 1-2 extra days to the Sept 28- Oct 2 Seminar. As you can understand this Spring Seminar will only take place if COVID-19 is controlled. Otherwise we will have to postpone it until 2021.

We are working very hard to devise other methods of delivery which will continue to provide you with course content that is meaningful and accessible such as webinars and video conferencing. Other aspects of your courses will be done online, maybe just a bit more than is happening now. We are looking at many options for when COVID-19 stabilises. So, please be assured that your courses are continuing even if they end up being completed in a different timeframe.

We have postponed the Art of Caring course (CA2020S) until the Second Semester and will advise of new dates as soon as possible.

Foundation in Rudolf Steiner Early Childhood Education course (EC01) students will have another weekend scheduled later in the year to replace the weekend in May. We will advise new dates for this weekend as soon as possible.

Courses affected are:

Our Steiner education courses for Primary and High School teachers – DE02 and DE03. (April Seminar)

Our Early Childhood courses, CA2020S (both weekends) EC01(May weekend), EC05 and EC07(April Seminar)

We will keep everyone updated as we progress through these very difficult times and would like to encourage you to consult our website and read our newsletters for up to date information as well.

Our very best wishes to everyone for your good health and well-being,

From all of us here at the College,

Mark Baxter
