Course Overview

The Steiner Education Primary Teaching – Certificate is the most rigorous, well rounded and practical qualification required to teach in a Steiner school.

The Steiner Education Primary Teaching – Foundation (PTF) and the Steiner Education Primary Teaching  – Certificate (PTC) course in Rudolf Steiner Education explore theoretical, practical and artistic modules that will give you a comprehensive experience of Rudolf Steiner Education.

These two courses are delivered as separate part-time courses over one year each. When both are completed, a Certificate in Rudolf Steiner Education is awarded. (Statements of Attainment are awarded for individual modules on completion).

The Steiner Education Primary Teaching – Certificate is the second and final year course in our comprehensive training program.

OUTCOME

This course is recognised by Steiner schools in Australia for those seeking employment as teachers in Steiner schools. 90% of our graduates’ secure work in a Steiner school. However, for all Australian schools, teachers need the requisite government qualifications (Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma in Ed or/and Master of Teaching).

NESA: Professional Development courses (previously NESA accredited) have been temporarily discontinued. We are undergoing a reaccreditation process to fulfil the new criteria provided by the NSW Government. We anticipate successful reaccreditation for our courses and will strive to develop new courses to support the PD of all teachers from preschool to High School. For further details and updated information please see the PD link on our website.

Online weekly Wednesday night lectures from 7.30-9pm during 4 x 6 week terms per year.

There are also two 4-day compulsory seminars which will be held in Sydney in Autumn and Spring. If, due to Covid19, participants are unable to travel to Sydney, we will run the Seminars online. Attendance is vital.

This course runs part-time over 1 year and follows on from the Steiner Primary Teaching -Foundation, PTF.

When you have completed the two years of study you will receive our formal certificate which is endorsed by our peak body, Steiner Education Australia.

Steiner Education Primary Teaching – Certificate PTC requires attendance at the weekly online webinars and the two Seminars. Students access reading materials via our online learning management portal and assessments are uploaded here too. There are no formal pre-requisites required to undertake this course, aside from the  Steiner Education Primary Foundation PTF course, but it is expected that students can self-manage and dedicate a few hours each week to study the  readings and be online for the webinars. Some assignments are required for Steiner Curriculum-Advanced Studies, Goethean Science and Perspectives on Steiner’s Worldview of Human Development.  No assignments are required for the creative modules.

For those participants wanting NESA credits there will be a short questionnaire to complete if the NESA courses are run online.
